Hydraulic scale modeling has been previously used as a method for mass oscillations assessment for hydropower plants with a single surge tank in Richter et al. (2012) and Svee (1970). In the present work, the method is evaluated and validated for multiple surge tanks using field measurements and a one-dimensional (1D) numerical model.
